Nigeria Greco-Roman wrestlers, Emmanuel Nwore (77kg) and Tochukwu Okeke (87kg) have told www.aclsports.com their intentions to win medals for Nigeria at the 12th African Games in Morocco.

The wrestling events (Greco Roman, women’s freestyle and men’s freestyle) will take place at El Jadida Sports Hall, El Jadida.

Nworie who won gold at the 2015 All Africa Games in Congo said he wants to make his country proud by singing the national anthem on the podium.

The National champion revealed that he left his former weight class due to the 2020 Olympic Games qualifiers.

He said, “I have been to the African Games before and I know what it takes to become a champion. I do not want to leave Morocco empty-handed. The only thing on my mind is to sing the national anthem on the podium”.

Nigeria Army wrestler, Tochukwu Okeke told www.aclsportscom that he will not disappoint Nigeria at the Games.

Okeke said he started his journey to the 2019 African Games immediately he could not make the trip to the 11th African Games in Brazzaville, Congo.

He said, “The expectation is high and I promise not to disappoint myself and others who believe in me. Everything is all about the mindset. After missing the trip to Congo four years ago, I went into my closet and told myself that I will not miss the next African Games. And I thank God that since the 11th African Games, I dominated my weight class till this very moment”.
