After years of religiously reporting other sports (also termed as lesser sports) in Nigeria, I will be making my first international trip outside the shores of Nigeria to attend the 12th African Games in Morocco.

Four years ago, I escorted the last batch of team Nigeria to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja which comprised of Wrestling, Taekwondo, Judo and others but this time around, I will be on the plane to the 2019 African Games in Morocco.

A week ago, my dreams of attending the 2019 African Games was about going down the drain until I made a Save Our Soul message to a senior officer in the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, who later told me to visit his office on Monday (19th August, 2019).

Till this present moment, some individuals have been asking me messages via SMS, Whatsapp, DM, Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms if I will be in morocco. My fans, I MADE IT OOOOO

I have devoted my time to reporting sports like wrestling, Judo, Karate, Taekwondo, Kick-Boxing, Wushu-Kungfu, Boxing, and of late volleyball and handball.

I recalled I made my debut in other sports reporting wrestling. I visited the 2015 All Africa Games wrestling trials camp, where the head coach of Kogi wrestling association, Philip Momoh introduced me to the President of Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali and today the rest is history. My first article was published by Samuel Ahmadu (a fellow colleague) who always encourages me to continue to believe in myself.

Funny enough, two of the athletes, Tochukwu Okeke and Alfred Parkistan who won the 2015 All Africa Games wrestling trials in Abuja four years ago will be at the 12th African Games.

I will not fail to acknowledge the unflinching support of sports federations like; Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Handball Federation of Nigeria, Nigeria Taekwondo Federation and others for always giving me adequate information about athletes and coaches whenever I come calling.

I am wishing team Nigeria success at the 12th African Games in Rabat, Morocco.
