AFN moves National Championships by two days

This year’s edition of the All Nigeria Athletics Championships (ANAC), which was scheduled to take place at the National Stadium, Abuja from July 5-7 will now hold July 7-9.

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) made this known on Tuesday via an email sent by the AFN secretary, Akawo Ameachi to Clubs, State Associations, Paramilitary organisations and other Stakeholders.

“This is to notify all that there is shift in date of the All Nigeria Championships. The new date is now July 7 to 9, 2018. The federation apologises for any inconvenience this change in date may have caused,” the letter read.

ANAC will serve as the National Trials for the upcoming African Senior Championships taking place in Asaba from August 1- 5.

In the same vein, there will be a fund-raising dinner on Thursday, July 12 gather at the Grand Hotel, Asaba for the CAA Asaba 2018 African Senior Athletics Championships holding from August 1-5.

According to Hon. Bukola Olopade, the Asaba 2018 Sponsorship & Brand Consultant, all the friends of Delta State, Captains of industries, who-is-who in Nigeria will all be on ground to support Delta as they get set for another milestone, this time in sports.
