The star match between Mumbai Maharathi’s Odunayo Adekuoroye and Haryana Hammers’ Helen Mauroulis could not hold as the World Champion suffered from fever on Day 12 of the ongoing Pro Wrestling League in India, aclsports.com gathered.

Hammers later fielded Pooja Gahlot who fell to the Adekuoroye, 2-4 by pinfall in the 57kg.

In a chat with aclsports.com, Adekuoroye’s personal coach, Purity Akuh was left disappointed the USA wrestler did not take on the Mumbai Maharathi fighter. “Before the bout, we got a message from the organisers that Helen Mauroulis will not be able to fight after suffering from fever”.

When asked if Adekuoroye could stop Mauroulis, Purity said, “Yes. Both met at the 2015 Grand Prix in Azerbaijan and it ended 6-6 points but Mauroulis won with technical point. We came prepared for Mauroulis this time around”.

Despite Adekuoroye’s win, Maharathi are still placed 4th, behind UP Dangal, Haryana Hammers and NCR Punjab Royals.

Mumbai Maharathi will on Monday face  Punjab Royals, Odunayo Adekuoroye former club side.
