2018 FIFA World Cup: John Ogu keeps tab on Croatian trio in EL Clasico

Nigeria midfielder, John Ogu who plys his trade in Israel already has his heart set on next year’s world cup opener in Russia against Croatia.

The Hapoel Beer Sheva central midfielder tweeted about the Croatian midfield trio of Modric, Kovacic and Rakitic who were all starters in Saturday’s EL Clasico contest at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Nigerians in the same vein lauded the gesture and advised him to get ready to do battle, look out for their weaknesses and exploit them at the world cup finals next year.

Nigeria have been grouped alongside Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in next year’s world cup with Icelandic midfielder, Gylfi Sigurdsson also squaring up against Nigerian forward, Victor Moses in a goalless draw at Goodison park.

Little Argentine and five time Ballon D’Or winner, Lionel Messi, who barring injury would be facing Nigeria at the Mundial next year, was also in action for Barcelona in the EL Clasico; scoring one and assisting another in the 3-0 thrashing of the current world champions.
