Wrestling: Igali notifies Governor Wike on Africa Championships date

The President of Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Hon Daniel Igali on Saturday presented the Bid City Award letter from United World Wrestling to the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

The Cadet, junior and Senior African Championships will be held in the City of Port Harcourt, Nigeria from 7-11 February 2018.

According to Igali, the whole nation, including wrestling stakeholders, are excited to be hosting the rest of Africa in less than five months.

On his part, the executive governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike promised to provide everything necessary to host a successful competition.

Igali on his social media page wrote; “I had the distinct pleasure of presenting the Bid City Award letter from United World Wrestling to the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

“We are excited to be hosting the rest of Africa in less than five months from today”, he added.

It will be recalled that Tunisia and Nigeria were the countries who bid to host the 2018 Afica Championships
