The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has conducted the official draw for the 2026 Championship, with the 16 participating teams drawn into four groups in Abuja, www.aclsports.com reports.

The draw took place at the NWFL headquarters, where clubs discovered their paths in the battle for promotion to the NWFL Premiership, with two promotion spots available.

Scheduled to run from July 9 to 16, the tournament will feature 16 teams drawn into four groups of four, with each group contested in a round-robin format.

The top team from each group will progress to the semi-final stage, where the two finalists will secure promotion to the top flight. At the other end, the bottom-placed teams in each group will enter the relegation playoffs, with the two lowest-ranked sides dropping to the NWFL Nationwide.
