Nigeria U17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, stepped up their build-up to the 2025 FIFAU17WWC in Morocco with back-to-back wins in friendly matches in Abuja, www.aclsports.com reports.

Played at the FIFA Goal Project on Friday, September 12, 2025, the Flamingos defeated Horvel Angels 2–0. Chisom Nwachukwu capitalised on a goalkeeping mistake to open the scoring, before Kaosara Olanrewaju sealed the result with a composed finish in the second half.

A day later, Saturday, September 13, 2025, the girls delivered an even more commanding display, sweeping aside Nazareth Angels 5–0. After establishing a 2–0 cushion before the break, Itodore Destiny added a third shortly after the restart. Terlumu Tabitha and Nwachukwu then struck to complete a dominant performance that showcased the team’s attacking depth, despite missing further chances.

The victories highlight the team’s growing cohesion and discipline as they intensify preparations for the global showpiece, scheduled for October 17 to November 8, 2025, in Morocco. Nigeria has been drawn in Group D alongside Canada, France, and Samoa.

Having clinched bronze at the 2022 edition in India, the Flamingos will be aiming to go even further this time, especially with the tournament set to hold on African soil for the very first time.

Head coach Bankole Olowookere currently has a full squad in camp, with every invited player available as the technical crew continue to fine-tune their strategies ahead of the tournament.
