Nigeria male and female handball teams lost their opening games in the handball event at the ongoing African Games in Morocco.

The handball event is happening at Stade Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca.

Nigeria male national team could not hold their rival Central Africa opponent, Angola as they lost by 31 to 20 goals. In the first half Angola led by four goals (16-12) and later compounded the woes of Nigeria in the second half.

Meanwhile, host Morocco beat Nigeria 26 to 20 goals in front of their home fans.

Nigeria male handball team will play Algeria while the women will play Angola on Wednesday by 6pm.
