The first half of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) ended with two teams – Ibom Angels and Delta Queens; who remain first and second in group A yet to taste defeat.

Ibom Angels almost earned an impressive victory away to forces rivals, Rivers Angels after racing to a two goal lead courtesy of: Omosonyi Ayo and Charity Reuben, but we’re denied by a spirited fight-back from the AITEO Cup champions led by Evelyn Nwabuoku as the encounter ended two goals apiece.

Goals from Oluchi Nwaokorobia, Amarachi Dike and Nwamaka Nnaneme gave Abia Angels a convincing win over FC Robo; while Heartland and Delta Queens played out a goalless draw as Edo Queens defeated Confluence Queens by two goals to nil.

After their first defeat of the season last week, two hat tricks from Anam Imo and Igboamalu Chinyere gave Nasarawa Amazons a 6-0 win over Adamawa Queens at the Lafia township stadium. Sunshine Queens also continued their impressive form as a 35th minute strike from Innocent Patricia was enough to decide a tough South West derby against Osun Babes.
