Inter Milan forward, Mauro Icardi, is the latest big name to be left out of his country’s 2018 FIFA World Cup squad. Icardi was excluded from Argentina’s final 23-man squad, despite an incredible form for his Italian club.
The 23-year-old scored in Inter’s decisive 3-2 win over Lazio on Sunday to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
However, in spite of the Inter captain emerging as Serie A’s top scorer with 29 goals, his national manager, Jorge Sampoali, doesn’t look impressed.
Icardi’s Serie A rivals, Juventus’ Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain, were included in the squad.
