Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has been rewarded for his wonderful performances in the colours of English Premier League side, Leicester City.

Ndidi has been named the club’s young player of the season by supporters of the Foxes, who voted online.

The defensive midfielder battled off challenge from two other nominees, Ben Chilwell, and Demarai Gray to take home the award.

This accolade comes courtesy of Ndidi’s established presence in midfield for the 2016 PL  winners, since joining the club from Belgian side, KRC Genk during the 2017 January transfer.

The 21-year-old tops the tackling charts for both the club and PL, having made 138 successful tackles in the PL this season.

The Nigerian midfielder was also in the running for the club’s players’ player of the year award, but lost out on that to eventual winner, central defender, Harry Maguire.

Ndidi, who has been linked with a big move away from the King Power stadium, is currently in danger of missing out on the 2018 FIFA World Cup later this summer, after picking up a hamstring injury at the weekend at Selhurst Park.

He has made 32appearances for Leicester this season in the PL, with three assists to his name.
