Iliya Pam and Deborah Pam (both from Plateau State)  have emerged first place winners in the Nigerian male and female category respectively at the Power Oil/Splash FM Ibadan City Marathon 2018.

Pam won the 42 km-long race with a time of two hours, thirty six minutes and fifty eight seconds  (2:36:58), followed closely by William Kefas who clocked two hours, thirty eight minutes and thirty two seconds (2:38:32) to place second while Friday Yohanna came third with a time of two hours, forty minutes and forty two seconds (2:40:42).

In the female category, Deborah Pam won the race with a time of two hours, fifty one minutes  and twenty four seconds (2:51:24), Elizabeth Nuhu coming second with a time of three hours, four minutes and twenty-one seconds (3:04:21) and in third place, Hudung Gyang Stephen running a time of three hours, five minutes and twenty-eight seconds (3:05:28).

The winner of the male category won the sum of one million naira, first runner up, four hundred thousand and second runner up two hundred thousand naira.

Meanwhile,  winner of the female category went away with seven hundred thousand naira, first runner up got two hundred and fifty thousand naira and second runner up with one hundred and fifty thousand naira.

In the Wheelchair event, Nofisat Adefala came first, James Oyebamiji in second place, Adebayo Oduwaye in third position while Joyce Otun came fourth.

Over 2,500 athletes battled for prizes at the Power Oil/Splash FM Ibadan City Marathon 2018 in Ibadan with three million prize money available.

The marathon races  including the wheelchair and artisan category all started off at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan.
