The Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF) is making plans to ensure that their Athletes compete at the forthcoming African Taekwondo championship scheduled for Morocco, later this month.

The Secretary General of the federation, Kabir Yusuf revealed this to www.aclsports.com after its third executive board meeting presided over by the President Margaret Binga in Abuja.

He disclosed that the Federation has carried out 12 events since its inauguration seven months ago.

Yusuf revealed that the details of the programmes included two international competitions, two national championships; five National coaching workshops held in various geo-political zones of the country, National Referee course, National training camp and NTF merit award night.

Amidst funding challenges, the board agreed to move on other programmes lined up for this year as part of agreement reached at its quarterly gathering with an update on their calendar.

Other accord struck during the meeting included that the draft of NTF Constitution, which is currently with the legal departments of the Nigeria Olympic Committee and Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports, would be sent to all the board members and state taekwondo associations, upon return to the Secretariat.

The communiqué issued also indicated that; “The Technical Plan for the 2019 All African Games and 2020 Olympic Qualification tournament as presented by the Technical Director, Engr. Chika Chukwumerije, was approved.

“Organizations and persons not following due process with regards to Taekwondo community in Nigeria should be called to order.

“To explore sources of externally generated revenue and improve sources of internally generated revenue.”
