La Liga: Ghana star Partey extends Atletico stay

Ghana international, Thomas Partey, is set for a lengthy stay at Atletico Madrid, after signing a new contract with the club. Partey signed a new deal that will see him remain at the capital club until the summer of 2023, according to the club.

“We are delighted to announce Thomas Partey has renewed his contract with our club until 30 June, 2023,” the club said in an official statement on their website.

The 24-year-old midfielder has been superb for the league contenders this season, notching up three goals in 24 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side.

“It’s an honour to play for this club,” an excited Partey told the club after putting pen to paper on his new contract.

It’s been a steady for Partey, who joined the club back in 2011, before coming through the ranks, in the club’s academy, to make his senior debut in November 2015, against RCD Espanyol.

The midfielder, who has played 82 times for the former La Liga winners, has been capped 14times by his country, Ghana.
