Manchester United are through to the UEFA Champions League, UCL, last eight after an historic 3-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in their round of 16 second leg tie in Paris on Wednesday.

Romelu Lukaku continued his rich vein of form by scoring a brace, while Marcus Rashford netted a late VAR assisted penalty to help United overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg to advance on away goals rule after the match ended 3-3 on aggregate.

Juan Bernat was PSG’s scorer on the night, with his goal which cancelled Lukaku’s opener for United, nothing but a consolation.

With so many of their first team players missing due to injuries, and Paul Pogba, who missed out due to suspension following his red card in the first leg at Old Trafford, the Red Devils put in a spirited performance in Paris to see off PSG and book a spot in the UCL quarterfinal for the first time since 2013.

The result sees Olé Gunnar Solskjaer’s side win their ninth consecutive away match in all competition, becoming the first team in UCL history to overturn a 2-0 defeat in the first leg.

Following the shocking result, United fans took to their various social media accounts to celebrate. Here are some of the best reactions as Olé’s boys came, saw and conquered Paris.

Elsewhere, FC Porto needed extra time to end AS Roma UCL dreams with a 3-1 win in their round of 16 second leg tie for a 4-3 aggregate victory.

With Roma leading 2-1 on aggregate after the first leg, the second leg ended 2-1 after 90minutes in favour of Porto with Tiquinho and Moussa Marega on the target for the hosts, while Daniele De Rossi netted Roma’s goal.

However, with just three minutes left in extra time, Alex Telles scored from the spot kick to hand Porto the win and a place in the quarterfinal.
