Nigeria U17 women’s team head coach Akeem Busari has named his 21-player squad for the 2026 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco, www.aclsports.com reports.
Busari has selected a balanced squad comprising three goalkeepers, seven defenders, five midfielders and six forwards, with the players representing clubs and academies from across Nigeria.
Captain Harmony Chidi will lead the Flamingos, with Oluwakemi Adegbuyi also among the notable names in Busari’s squad. Queen Joseph, Precious Oscar, Tosin Rafiu, Favour Nkwocha and goalkeeper Jane Ijirigho return to the U-17 setup after representing Nigeria at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
The team is expected to leave Nigeria for Morocco on Wednesday, October 7, with the tournament scheduled to run from October 17 to November 8.
Nigeria, the 2022 bronze medallists, have been placed in Group B, where they will face defending champions DPR Korea, Poland and Puerto Rico.
Their campaign begins against Poland on October 17, followed by a meeting with Puerto Rico three days later. The Flamingos will round off their group-stage campaign against DPR Korea on October 23.
