One of Nigeria’s continental representatives Kano Pillars FC will be without three key players when they face Senegalese side ASC Diaraf in their crunch Total CAF Confederation Cup (TotalCAFCC) preliminary round second leg tie on Saturday, reports www.aclsports.com

Pillars lost the first leg tie in Dakar 1-3 last weekend but have now been dealt a further blow with the news that the trio of Victor Dennis, Emmanuel Anyanwu and Ewenike Achibi will be ruled out of the decisive second leg.

The Pillars side, coached by Frenchman Lionel Soccoia will be hoping to advance beyond the preliminary stage of Africa’s second grade club competition when they face their fellow West Africans at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.

Defenders Dennis and Anyanwu started and finished the first leg game despite suffering knocks in the course of the game but midfielder Achibi who assisted his side’s only goal in the game came off injured just before the hour mark with his replacement Ayobami Junior poised to continue on Saturday.

Saturday’s game will kick off at 4pm in Pillars’ adopted home ground in Kaduna. The choice of Kaduna came after the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano was used as an isolation centre for Covid-19 positive cases.

Should Pillars successfully overturn the 1-3 deficit and progress to the next round, they will face Coted’voire side FC San Pedro in the first round after the Ivoriens – who were defeated home and away by Enyimba last season – were drawn bye from the preliminary round.
