Reigning Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions Enyimba have returned to their base, Aba ahead of this weekend’s Total CAF Confederation Cup (TotalCAFCC) match against TS Galaxy of South Africa, reports www.aclsports.com

The People’s Elephant have spent the past two weeks in closed camping in Ota, Ogun State ahead of this first leg playoff round tie against the South African cup kings scheduled for the Enyimba Stadium, Aba this Sunday.

The team of playing personnel, coaches and staff that went to Ota have now returned to Aba on Tuesday evening where they have continued preparations for Sunday’s game.

As part of the preparations, the two-time African champions will play a friendly game against Nigeria National League (NNL) side Abia Comets at the Enyimba Stadium on Thursday.

The Usman Abdallah led side dropped down to the Confederation Cup after an aggregate loss to Sudan’s Al-Hilal Omdurman and will be hoping to make it to the group stage of the tournament for the second time in three seasons.

Coincidentally, when Enyimba got to the group stage in 2018 – a run that saw them till the semi final -, they eliminated a South African side, Bidvest Wits at this stage; TS Galaxy is the next in line.

Enyimba’s national team legion, Theophilus Afelokhai, Dare Olatunji and Reuben Bala have all returned to the team ahead of Sunday’s crunchy first leg tie.
