Nigerian football fans have expressed their minds following the 2026 World Qualifiers match day one match between Nigeria and Lesotho.

Jose Peseiro’s men played out a 1-1 draw with the Crocodiles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Thursday. Semi Ajayi headed home a corner from Kelechi Iheanacho to cancel out Motlomelo Mkwanazi’s opener in the second half.

The performance did not go down well with the fans and they have voiced their minds on the popular microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter).

Here are some of the reactions from the users of the platform.

Super Eagles should be disbanded. Home based players and under 23 should take over. Sack that fraud of a coach. Boniface and co are not ripe for African football.

Useless coach, with some bunch of average players that doesn't to be anywhere near super eagles set up. I hope they don't qualify coz they will go and disgrace us. pic.twitter.com/pqWs8OkZLl

This set of Super Eagles needs the "Congo" treatment from the supporters. When Eagles played nonsense vs Congo in AFCON 2000, fans went on rampage so much, fear was instilled in the players! Next match vs Morocco, they gave their all! Same treatment is needed for this set! https://t.co/EkUFGrcL4V

Nigeria Super Eagles can't beat Lesotho? What a shame to them, no hopes for the world cup, Big players that cannot perform for their country! I pity them for AFCON sha😂#nigerialesotho

This is the more reason why a citizen cannot pay #1000 to watch the Super Eagles.

What do you get? Disappointment, abysmal display, poor results.

I thought they said "Abuja pitch was the reason for poor performance."

Abuja pitch that other National teams will play and win. Only Super Eagles will say, "na pitch make person cross nonsense."

So what is the excuse with the results in Uyo..
Abi the Moon quick rise?.

My humble advice to FG,stop super eagle from preparation for world cup, disband or sack present super eagle player and recruit new players from local clubs here in Nigeria, failure to heed my advice, more people will die out of heartbreak as a result of poor performance.

Super eagles done turn, "I get am before" like every other sector in this country,
All my life I have never seen a Nigerian team this poor.
Goal keeper : disaster
Defence: try and error
Midfield: the worst I have seen all my life
Front line: is where we have hope
