The Taraba State Government through its Ministry of Youth and Sports is set to enter into a partnership with the world’s leading football league brand, LALIGA, www.aclsports.com reports.

In a meeting held in Lagos between officials of both parties, the Taraba State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon Joseph Joshua expressed his delight at the proposed collaboration.

Joshua says Taraba state is opening up to the world like never before and brands like LALIGA can only make the state grow bigger.

‘We will be very happy to welcome you to Taraba State. The government is interested in developing human capital in the area of sports, particularly football, and we believe LALIGA is the right partner to collaborate with.

‘We want to revive football in the State, train our coaches, and create a pathway for our talented players,” said Hon. Joshua at the meeting held at Eko Hotels and Suites.

Projects and Communications Manager for LALIGA Nigeria, Ayodeji Adegbenro, in his response, reiterated LALIGA’s commitment to the development of football in Nigeria.

‘We are always on the lookout for the right partners to collaborate with. Through our partnership with institutions such as the NPFL, and the NWFL, we have done a lot in terms of football development at grassroot and elite level.

‘We are excited at the prospect of this partnership with the Taraba State Government, we believe we can achieve a lot together,” said Adegbenro.

The move to collaborate with a leading global brand like LALIGA is part of the drive of the Taraba State government, led by Governor Agbu Kefas to reposition sports development in the state and also resuscitate football development at the grassroot.
