African Cadet Champion, Taiwo Mati has resumed training after the easing of the COVID-19 lockdown in Portugal. The 2019 Africans Games men’s team silver medallist said he felt bad not training for over 3 months since the lockdown began in Portugal.

Mati told www.aclsports.com that despite not having international tournaments to attend, he needs to keep fit.

He said, “I am excited to resume intensive training after over 3 months indoor. The only light training I did was playing with Aruna Quadri and his family at their house which was fun.  I have to return back to shape because we do not know when the ITTF-Africa will schedule some of these events.

“I felt so sad because I have not experienced such a thing before when everyone will stay inside their houses due to a disease.
