The President of Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF), Margaret Binga appealed to the Korea Ambassador to influence the construction of a National Taekwondo Training Centres in the country.

Binga state this during her opening speech at the 9th Korea Ambassador Cup in Abuja.

The Adamawa born sports administrator told the Korean Ambassador to Nigeria that the time is ripe for Nigeria to have her own training centre.

She pledged total support in promoting the Korean culture amongst Taekwondo practitioners in the country.

“I am happy to welcome you to the 9th Korea Ambassador Cup. The Taekwondo federation overtime has promoted the Korean culture to the best of her ability and I believe it is time for Korea to reciprocate.

“The federation is using this medium to appeal to Korea to build us National training centre where we can have our programmes and nurture budding talent. We do not want to host our national championships in the stadium but our own centre”, Binga said.

She further said, “Countries like Senegal and Kenya have National Training Centre built by Korea. I hope Korea will grant our desire by building ours and I am optimistic this will make encourage a large section of the youth to enrol into the sport, Taekwondo.
