Four match days in, and the 2025 NWFL Super Six is building to a thrilling climax with the title still up for grabs.
Heading into Match day 4, Bayelsa Queens were the team to beat as they were unbeaten, top of the table and riding a 17 League game unbeaten streak. But that narrative was dramatically rewritten.
Edo Queens Spark the Drama
Bayelsa Queens entered Match day 4 unbeaten and top of the table. But defending champions Edo Queens turned the tide and ended Bayelsa’s 17-game league unbeaten streak with a 1-0 win. Substitute Goodness Osigwe struck just before halftime, scoring the first open-play goal Bayelsa have conceded in the Super Six.
Rivers Angels Finally Sparkle
Meanwhile, seven-time champions Rivers Angels finally got off the mark, beating Naija Ratels 2-0 with goals from Titilayo Aweda and forward Mary Moses scoring her 11th goal of the season and first of the tournament.
Nasarawa Amazons Grind to the Top
Later in the day, Nasarawa Amazons played out a goalless draw against Remo Stars Ladies; the first goalless draw of the entire tournament. That single point was enough to nudge the Amazons to the summit of the standings with 8 points.
Matchday 5: The Decider
Saturday, May 17th at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne will decide it all;

Nasarawa Amazons vs Edo Queens: Nasarawa Amazons will win the title with a victory over Edo Queens. But if Edo Queens claim victory, they must hope other results go their way.
Bayelsa Queens vs Naija Ratels: Bayelsa can reclaim glory with a win but only if Nasarawa and Remo Stars falter.
Remo Stars Ladies vs Rivers Angels: Victory for Remo Stars, combined with a draw between Nasarawa and Edo, could catapult them to the title if they also top the goal difference chart.
If Bayelsa and Remo Stars end up being tied on points and goal difference, Bayelsa will win on head-to-head.
It’s a four-way battle for the crown and for the right to represent Nigeria at the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League (WAFU Zone B qualifiers).
Buckle up.
This isn’t just a finale.
It’s a football spectacle in the making.
