African champions, Nigeria’s Super Falcons, have named a 25-player squad for the upcoming double-header friendlies against Cameroon. Goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor earns her first senior call-up, while Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene and Gift Monday make a return, www.aclsports.com reports.
Head coach Justin Madugu has called up Erhabor, who plays for Portsmouth FC Women in the English Women’s Championship. She was previously invited to the Nigeria U17 setup and has now received her first senior call-up. Midfielder Okobi-Okeoghene returns to the squad, having last featured in a major tournament for the Super Falcons during the 2022 WAFCON, while Washington Spirit forward Gift Monday rejoins after missing out on the 2024 Women’s AFCON triumph in Morocco.
Midfielder Precious Christopher joins the group for the first time. Defender Chidinma Okeke also makes a return.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade leads the 10-time African champions, alongside goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, with notable omissions including six-time African Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala.
The first match against Cameroon will be held on Saturday, 28 February, with the second coming on Tuesday, 3 March.
