The Super Eagles are back in Lagos for a crucial AFCON qualifier and ACLSports caught up with Nigerian international, Semi Ajayi who spoke on a host of things including his preferred playing position.

The West Bromwich Albion defender who plays prominently as a centre back for his club in the English Premier League but is usually utilized as a defensive midfielder when playing for the Super Eagles, was asked about his preferred playing position.

“My preferred position is definitely central defense,” Ajayi said. “However, I’m happy to play wherever the team needs me to help do a job,” he added.

“I’ve played in midfield for my club as well, so if I’m called upon to help the team there, I’m more than happy to do so.”
