Assistant coach of Nigeria Customs Service volleyball team, Sunday Akpason said playing volleyball helped him fulfil his dreams at international tournaments.

The ex-international told www.aclsports.com that winning two silver medals at the 1999 and 2003 All Africa Games made him secure mouthwatering deals outside the shores of Nigeria.

The former Al-Ahly Tripoli player revealed that his dream is to eventually win the Africa Club Championships with Nigeria Customs team.

“I am currently a fulfilled man to have played for Nigeria at the World Under-21 Club Championships, won two silver medals at the All Africa Games, a silver medal at the 2007 Africa Nations Cup.”

Akpason continued, “I could not win gold at any Africa Championship but settled for a bronze, I hope I will be able to become a club champion with Nigeria Customs.

“I was voted Africa best setter on two occasions and lifted the national league on various occasions.”

The former Al-Hilal Benghazi player said he wants to impart the knowledge of the game on his players.

“I have excelled as a player, the next thing left for me is to transfer my knowledge into the Nigeria Customs Service volleyball team.”

“We won the first edition of the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League in Abuja, the next thing left for us is to defend it this year”, the former Al- Nasser Benghazi player added.

The former captain of Nigeria Volleyball team won the Libya League Cup and Super Cup with Jazeera Zuwara, Al-Ahly Tripoli Al-Hilal Benghazi and Al- Nasser Benghazi.
