All is set for the highly anticipated Sir Tony Nnamdi Ngwube Volleyball Tournament 2024, which will take place from November 2nd to 4th at the Washington Volleyball Court in Onitsha, Anambra State.”

This two-day event promises to be a thrilling showcase of talent and sportsmanship, with teams from across the region eager to compete.

Ijeomah Ndudi, the tournament coordinator and head coach of Refiner’s Volleyball Academy, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming competition.

“We aim to create an avenue for clubs in Anambra and neighbouring states to come together, discover new talent, and keep the spirit of volleyball alive. There are a lot of volleyball teams in Anambra State that cannot attend tournaments outside the state; this is another avenue for them to test their strength,” he stated.

Ndudi said, “Ex International, Tony Ngwube is one of our major volleyball motivators in Onitsha. He has provided us with several kits, training materials and cash prizes to support young players; it is my believe that volleyball will be great again in the South East”.

The tournament will feature a diverse lineup of registered teams from Anambra and Delta State.

In the male category, competitors include HVC of Asaba, Unizik VB Club, Golden Spikers, Destiny Spikers, VikCal VC of Awka, Dominic VC, Ultimate Spikers VC of Fegge, Nnewi Spikers, Alabagames VC, and Young Spikers VC of Umunze. The female category will see participation from HVC of Asaba, Unizik VB Club, Golden Spikers, Destiny Spikers, Refiners Queens of Onitsha, and Alabagames VC.
