Rangers International new star, Oluwafemi Ajayi has told ACLSports that he is not sure he would celebrate if he gets on the score sheet against former club Dakkada FC.

The Uyo side are in Enugu for a date with Rangers at the Cathedral in a week 8 encounter in the Nigeria Professional Football League,  NPFL, on Wednesday.

Speaking exclusively to YourSportsMemo during a chat, Ajayi, who recently joined the Flying Antelopes from Dakkada, is happily looking forward to the game but is still unsure if he would celebrate should he score against his former club, Dakkada.

“I feel happy playing against my former team,” the forward said. “But I don’t know yet (if I would celebrate). It depends on the kind of goal I will score and when it comes, my spirit will tell me (how to celebrate or not).”

The talented forward spent three seasons at Dakkada, where he played a crucial role in their promotion to the NPFL last season before he left for the Flying Antelopes ahead of the 2021 campaign.

Therefore, he expects Wednesday’s match to be a very good one against his former employers but with a caveat.

“Well, all I can say is that they are a good side and we respect them but we are expecting to win them and win them well by God’s grace.”

Wednesday’s match will be the third meeting between the two teams with one win each in the previous two games.

Reminded that he is the top scorer in this particular fixture, after he netted three times in just two outings for Dakkada last season against Rangers, Ajayi added that it would be weird facing his former team but hopes to score.

“Yes, for sure, it would be weird to face them, but by God’s grace I hope to score.”

While the youngster is enjoying his time at the Cathedral, where he has been heavily involved, having featured in six (6) of their opening seven (7) matches so far with a goal to his name, he has his eyes set on bigger glories.

“Life and being a part of the Rangers International football club and family have been good. I scored my first goal against Jigawa Golden Stars, but my targets are to be among the highest goalscorers and for my team to win the league title.”

Rangers and Dakkada have 11 points each having won three (3), drawn two (2), and lost two (2) of their opening seven (7) games.
