Six-time African Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala has been named the Saudi Women’s Premier League Player of the Month for September, www.aclsports.com reports.

In her very first month in the league, the Super Falcons striker showed her quality, scoring in all three games in September for Al Hilal, netting three goals and providing two assists.

Oshoala’s direct involvement in five goals underlines her instant impact in Saudi Arabia, with her pace, movement and finishing standing out in the opening weeks of the campaign.

The former Barcelona Femení forward only joined Al Hilal this summer from NWSL side Bay FC, but she has already become a key player for the Saudi club. This award is another individual honour in her glittering career.

It was also a clean sweep of the monthly awards for Al Hilal, with her teammates and coach equally recognised. Goalkeeper Laila Ali was voted Best Goalkeeper of the Month, while manager José Ángel Herrera took home the Best Coach of the Month award. Midfielder Kheira Hamraoui was also celebrated for scoring the Best Goal of Round 3.

Al Hilal will look to Oshoala’s continued form as they push for honours in the Saudi Women’s Premier League this season.
