National champion, Shola Olowookere (-68kg) has promised to give his opponents hell ahead of his bout on Saturday at the ongoing Nigeria Taekwondo International Championship in Abuja.

Olowookere told www.aclsports.com that Nigerians should expect great display from him against his opponents.

He said, “I need a positive result at the Nigeria Open and my determination is to win and pick up the gold medal on the podium.

“I am not scared of getting on the mat and I am willing to fight anyone who comes my way; maintaining my number one status in Nigeria is paramount”.

“After the Nigeria Open, the next challenge is to win gold at the All Africa Games and I believe the preparations has started from here”, he added.

He, however, admitted that Saturday’s encounter would not be for the fainthearted.

“I respect other athletes but I am not going there to make up the numbers”.
