The President of Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN), Francis Orbih said talents discovered at youth games will be heavily invested on to replace aging athletes.

Orbih who disclosed this to aclsports.com at the indoor sports hall in Ilorin said the federation will keep the athletes busy by organizing consistent U15, U17 and Senior Championship.

He expressed satisfaction over the level of performance and spirit of sportsmanship exhibited by the junior athletes.

“It’s going on well and very exciting seeing younger ones playing very passionately and also trying to win. All in all, I’m happy with their performance”.

“After the youth games like I promised much earlier, we are going to have a very busy calendar for our athletes, both the age grade and Senior players”, he said.

“We are going to have U15, U17 and Senior Championship which should keep them busy. Those identified from here will be collected, like the winners picked and the federation will make sure the coaches take over and prepare them for the Africa Championship.”

He pledged to support the para badminton federation in their upcoming national event come December 2017.
