NYG: Bayelsa state take early lead on the table

Bayelsa state top the medals table with 5 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze after the end of day 2 at the ongoing National Youth Games (NYG) in Ilorin, Kwara State.

In second position is Lagos State with 4 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze followed closely by Edo State in third position with four gold only.

Defending champion, Delta state is sitting in fourth position with 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze while runner up, Akwa Ibom has 1 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medal.

Plateau state is sixth winning 1 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze; Ondo state is currently in seventh position with 1 gold and 4 bronze.

Other positions are:

8th position; Bauchi state- 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze

9th position; Ekiti state- 1 gold and 1 bronze

10th position; Kano state- 1 gold and 1 bronze

Judo Female -44kg

Gold- Faith Faith (Delta state)

Silver – Precept Benjamin (Rivers state)

Bronze – Dorcas Effiong Bassey (Akwa Ibom state)

Bronze-Zara Mohammed (Kano state)

Judo: Male-  -42kg

Gold: ishaq Nababa (Kano state)

Silver: Solomon Udeze (Delta state)

Bronze: Elijah Charles Eyen (Akwa Ibom state) – knockout

Weightlifting: 44kg

Gold: Destiny Joseph (3 Gold) Bayelsa snatch 57kg, Clean and Jack 70kg. 127kg

Silver: Maria Friday Attat (3 Silver) Akwa Ibom Snatch 45kg, clean and Jack 51. Total 96kg

Bronze: Precious Uche (3 bronze) Snatch 42kg, clean and Jack 50kg total 92kg
