The Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) is set to commence in March after a decision was reached at the annual congress which held in Benin City on Tuesday evening.

The 2020 NWPL football season will run as an abridged league and to that effect draws were held with all 16 participating teams split into two groups of eight each.

Pelican Stars FC and Royal Queens FC are the newly promoted sides to the league. Pelican Stars will be making a return to the NWPL after they got relegated in 2018, while Royal Queens will be playing in the league for the first time ever.
