The NWFL has issued a warning to clubs yet to complete their digital registration and licensing requirements ahead of the 2025/2026 Premiership season, www.aclsports.com reports.
NWFL Chief Operating Officer, Modupe Shabi, confirmed the notice on Monday, 18 November, emphasising that non-compliant teams could face sanctions, including relegation. She reiterated that the league remains committed to a timely start, with the opening fixture scheduled for 26 November.
Shabi highlighted the importance of the digital registration portal in ensuring transparency and maintaining professional standards across the league. “The digital registration and licensing process ensures that every club meets the minimum administrative and financial requirements to compete. Clubs must complete their submissions by 22 November. Those who fail to comply will face the consequences outlined in our regulations,” she said.
With the deadline approaching, Castmog Ladies, Naija Ratels and Osun Babes are reportedly among the teams yet to finalise their registrations. The league’s digital platform forms part of its ongoing effort to professionalise women’s football in Nigeria, streamlining processes and reducing errors in documentation.
All clubs are expected to complete their digital submissions before the deadline to guarantee a smooth start to the season.
