Robo Queens, Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens continued their fine form as the NWFL Premiership returned from the Christmas break, with match day five producing goals and key talking points across the country, www.aclsports.com reports.

At the Mobolaji Johnson Arena Stadium, Lagos, Robo Queens claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ahidiayannem Queens. Opeyemi Ajakaye struck in the first minute, scoring her third goal of the season to join Tosin Rafiu and Kemi Adegbuyi as joint top scorers so far. Goalkeeper Olawale Olaide recorded her fourth clean sheet of the campaign, underlining Robo’s defensive solidity.

Rivers Angels maintained their perfect run with an emphatic 3-0 win over Adamawa Queens in Makwada. Abasiofon Uwah was outstanding, netting a hat-trick in the 56th, 63rd and 81st minutes to become the first player to score three goals in a single match this season.

Defending champions Bayelsa Queens also stayed on track with a 2-1 away victory over Ibom Angels in Uyo. Kesiena Ojiyovwi opened the scoring in the 20th minute, while Janet Akekeromowei doubled the lead before half-time. Helen David pulled one back for Ibom Angels in the second half, but Bayelsa held firm for maximum points.

In Asaba, Delta Queens overcame Dannaz Ladies 2-0, with Amarachukwu Onuorah opening the scoring in the 29th minute before Rita Tsebee added a stoppage-time goal.

Abia Angels also impressed with a 2-0 win over Sunshine Queens in Aba, as Ekezie Onyedikachi converted a first-half penalty and Winner David sealed the victory, while Pacesetter Queens earned their first point of the season in a goalless draw against Heartland Queens.
