Reigning Africa Junior and Cadet Champion Mati Taiwo emerged winner in the male category of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) National Youth League at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

Mati Taiwo defeated Omeh Amadi 3-2 in a keenly contested encounter and with an element of luck according to him.
“It was very tough and not so easy but I think I was very lucky to win it,” the Ondo State indigene said.

Having bagged another important win following his stellar performance in recent times, the 17 year-old African Junior Champion immediately shifted his focus to the upcoming ITTF Nigeria Open set to take centre stage in two weeks.

Ahead of the 2019 ITTF Challenge Nigeria Open he said “I hope to continue to improve on my previous performances to achieve my dream of becoming a World Champion some day.”
