NSCDC wins 2018 Ministry of Interior Games

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has emerged the overall winner of 2018 Ministry of Interior Games which ended at the weekend at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

NSCDC finished first position with 50 gold, 24 silver and 22 bronze followed by Nigeria Police Force with 31 gold, 32 silver and 24 bronze to occupy second position.

Third on the medals table was the Nigeria Prisons Service with 2 gold, 13 silver and 26 bronze while the Federal Fire Service came fourth place with 2 gold, 4 silver and 14 bronze. Nigeria Immigration Service got 12 silver and 25 bronze to clinch the fifth position while the Ministry of Interior won 2 bronze to finish sixth position.

Speaking at the end of the tournament, Minister of Interior, General Abdulrahman Dambazzau (retd) said the performances of the services and the ministry Sports Club showed technical performances in a keenly contested competition and a window for future development and turnover of medals.

“The objectives of the Games were mostly achieved particularly sharing of intelligence, creating atmosphere of cameradire and mitigation of inter agency rivalry.”

Dambazzau tasked private organisations to engage in marketing and sponsorship relationship with the Games.
