The youth sides of South West rivals Remo Stars and Shooting Stars have set up a meeting in the 2022 NPFLLaLigaU15Promises final after semi-final wins on Thursday.

In the day’s first semi-final game, Remo Stars who have the luxury of playing at their Remo Stars Stadium turf in Ikenne won 2-0 against Kano Pillars to book a place in the final.

Second half goals by Arierhi Kparoboa and Nasiru Umar gave the Sky Blues a deserved win over the young Northerners.

Another final appearance for a @RemoStarsSC youth side this year, as they lost in both the finals of the @ViareggioCup and @TCC_League cup so far. Regardless of the result these kids are in a very supportive system that only wants them them to succeed 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 https://t.co/4QrTJDVURX

In the night game, defending champions Katsina United were stunned by Shooting Stars who came from behind to record a dramatic 2-1 win.

Katsina went in front in first half stoppage time but the young talents from Ibadan levelled matters at the start of the second half when Abbas Abubakar converted from the spot.

Shooting Stars then secured the winner with virtually the last kick of the game when Samuel Ajayi latched onto a rebound after Katsina’s goalkeeper fumbled a ferocious free kick from long range.

The two fierce rivals from South West Nigeria will face in Sunday’s final at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne with the game scheduled to hold under floodlights, from 6pm local time.
