Group A

Enyimba, who were placed third on the log before this match day, went to Maiduguri to face Elkanemi and took away all three points to record their fourth away win of the season. Emeka Obioma scored the game’s only goal to brighten the Aba side’s Super Six aspirations.

In Ikenne, a first-half stoppage time penalty from skipper Nduka Junior helped Remo Stars defeat Akwa United 1-0 on Sunday. It is the Sky Blue Stars’ first-ever win over the Promise Keepers in the top-flight.

In an important game for relegation-threatened Kwara United and Super Six hopeful Plateau United, it finished in a share of the spoils in Akure. Issa Gata got the opener for the Ilorin side before they were pegged back early in the second half.

Meanwhile, it finished goalless in Gombe between Gombe United and Bendel Insurance. While Nasarawa United defeated Shooting Stars 1-0 courtesy Nelson Abiam’s goal on Saturday.

GROUP B

Abia Warriors thumped Dakkada 3-0 to condemn the Chosens to relegation in Umuahia. Sunday Megwo and Bello Lukman’s brace decided the contest as the Warriors kept their hopes of a Super Six spot alive.

The top clash between Lobi Stars and Niger Tornadoes ended in a 1-0 win for the hosts. Francis Odinaka with the game’s only goal.

In Awka, Rangers scored three goals in a single game for the first time this season to beat Wikki Tourists. Chidiebere Nwobodo scored twice and Samuel Pam added the other goal.

Bayelsa United continued their rich vein of form with another win at home in Yenagoa. Edwin Ayiba scored the opening goal on the hour mark before Achi Nnaemeka equalised for Sunshine Stars moments later, only for Gomo Onduku to notch the match-winner with two minutes to go.

The penultimate weekend of the current season is expected to hold next weekend across all centres.
