NPFL club, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club, MFM FC, have parted ways with their coach, Tony Bolus, www.ACLSports.com reports.

Bolus’ sack follows another uninspiring performance and loss from the Olukoya Boys in a rescheduled NPFL match against defending champions, Enyimba on Wednesday at the Soccer Temple, Agege.

“It is a very painful loss, ” Bolus admitted after the game Wednesday evening.

“We never planned for this, but it isn’t a sign of collapse, you win some, you lose some.”

The latest defeat was MFM’s third in their last four matches in the NPFL and has now cost the former Giwa FC boss his job at the club.

The People’s Elephant arrived Lagos with a very poor domestic form, having failed to win any of their previous six matches in the league.

However, following some impressive performances on the continent recently, the Aba Millionaires put on a show and left with all three points courtesy of an Abdulrahman Bashir second half goal.

With that result, Bolus and MFM registered their seventh defeat in 18 matches, and have also lost more games (7) than they had won (6).

Bolus has been coach of the Olukoya Boys since he replaced the legendary Fidelis Ilechukwu in August, 2019 on a three-year contract, which was due to expire in the summer of 2022.

He leaves MFM 12th on the MFM table on 23 points, just eight points above relegation.
