Head coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Gbenga Ogunbote, has disclosed that his side will continue to fight until they get it right on the road following another defeat in the South West derby against Remo Stars on Wednesday, www.aclsports.com reports.

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match day 14 clash between the Remo Stars and Shooting Stars ended in a 2-0 win in favour of the hosts in Ikenne. Former 3SC striker Sikiru Alimi scored the opener from the spot just before the break before Olamilekan Adedayo added a second after the interval.

Speaking to the press after the defeat, Ogunbote also praised his players for their efforts following Taiye Muritala’s dismissal after the half-hour mark.

“It is unfortunate we lost the game. We were looking at getting it right on the road, yet another derby, we couldn’t get it right,” stated the Oracle.

“We will keep fighting until we get it right. But the important thing is that the boys gave a good fight. We were a little bit wasteful, ordinarily we would have been two goals up in the first half.”

Ogunbote the blamed the loss of concentration, which resulted in the second goal, saying. “The second goal was uncalled for, we needed not to have conceded that, we had a careless moment there.

“Even after the second goal, we were determined to fight till the end but Nigerian league is difficult playing with one man short. If we can play this much with one man short, I think when we have a complete team, we should be able to do better,” concluded the former Remo Stars tactician.

Shooting Stars, who are ranked 10th on the log with 18 points, will host Abia Warriors in their next game at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Sunday on match day 15.
