NPFL side, Katsina United, have adopted the Rasheed Yekini main bowl, Ilorin, as their new home ground in the 2025/26 season, www.aclsports.com reports.
The Changi Boys have always played their home games at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina, but after the fans’ unruly behaviour in the match day 12 game against Barau FC led to a ban on the stadium and a banishment to Jos, Plateau State, the club has opted to head to Ilorin instead.
In a letter dated November 19, 2025, and signed by the Chief Operating Officer of the NPFL, the approval takes effect from Matchday 14 of the NPFL.
“We wish to inform you that after careful evaluation of the logistics involved in hosting your home fixtures at the Jos City Stadium, with respect to the available facilities there in, it has been decided as follows: that Katsina United FC play their home fixtures at the Rasheed Tekini main bowl, Ilorin Township Stadium. That adequate provision of match-day logistics should be made available to the concerned football association. That strict and supervised security protocols must be put in place and observed for all matches,” the statement concluded.
Following the recent decision, Katsina United will now play their next league fixture against Enyimba behind closed doors in Ilorin, and it has been scheduled for Monday.
Katsina United have 17 points from 13 matches so far this term and will hope to garner more points before the end of the first round.
