Former league top scorer Akarandut Orok scored for the second game in a row to give Akwa United the bragging rights in the Qua Iboe Derby against Dakkada FC on a day Plateau United dug deep to stay top of the table.

Orok’s 17th minute strike gave new coach Kennedy Boboye another win in his second game in charge, leaving Dakkada to rue a second home loss this season.

In Jos, Uche Onwuasonaya scored a last gasp winner for league leaders Plateau United against Warri Wolves as Abdu Maikaba’s side kept their position on top of the table.

Rivers United came from behind to secure a win over Sunshine Stars for the first time in four years. Omo Jesu Ogunniyi gave the visitors the lead in Port Harcourt but Peter Ubakanma levelled scores in the first half before Ivorian defender Konan Ngouan’s penalty in the second half sealed the win.

Lobi Stars had Samad Kadiri to thank once again in the absence of Sikiru Alimi. Kadiri popped up in the 73rd minute to score the only goal (his second in consecutive games) against Lobi’s bogey side Katsina United at the Aper Aku Stadium.

In Lagos, Najeem Adeyinka scored again for MFM FC as they beat Adamawa United 2-0 while Kwara United beat Rangers International 1-0 in Ilorin.
