Head Coach of Remo Stars, Daniel Ogunmodede insists his side had intentions of winning the game against Shooting Stars on Wednesday afternoon.

Shooting Stars and Remo Stars clashed in a top of the table clash in the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super eight playoffs in Enugu.

Teenage forward Agbeko Morgan cancelled out 3SC substitute Okachi Anthony’s opener to remain top of Group B in the promotion playoffs.

Despite the difficult conditions his side played in, Ogunmodede was full of praise for his players after their spirited performance against, in his words, the best team in the league.

“I’m super impressed by the performance of my team. They played against the best team in the league”

The former Crown FC gaffer was also critical of the schedule after seeing a chunk of his players suffer cramps towards the end of the game.

“We are here to win all the games. We came with a plan to win the game but the timing affected us a lot. We played in less than eight hours. A lot of fatigue set in which caused our players to keep falling down, it has never happened before”

“Systematically, we are supposed to rest for at least 24 hours, but they can’t get that now due to the situation of the game. We were very lucky to get the draw”

Remo Stars lead the group with four points after yesterday’s 3-0 comfortable win over Ekiti United and the latest 1-1 draw with Shooting Stars.
