Nimrod commends Team at World Beach V/Ball C’Ship

President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod has commended the country’s female players for their performance at the ongoing World Beach Volleyball Championship in Hamburg, Germany.

Nigeria qualified for her first Beach Volleyball World Championships after finishing fourth at the Africa Beach Volleyball Nations Cup in Abuja.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday, Nimrod said he is extremely proud of the players’ performance in Germany.

“Nigeria is proud of you, from the videos I watched online, you played very well. I urge you to keep the Nigeria flag flying high.”

“You made the country proud and I want to assure you that the Nigeria Volleyball Federation will do everything possible to support you.

“We may not have won today, but we have won a battle to take our desired dream one step further; our dream being, to not just win matches and trophies, but to develop a sustainable volleyball culture for Nigeria,”he added.

Meanwhile, Nigeria Women’s Beach Volleyball team is ranked number one in Africa while the Men’s team is ranked 10th ahead of the 2019 All African Games in Morocco next month according to the latest ranking released by African Volleyball Confederation, CAVB.
