Nigerian players returned to action for their clubs after the international break, with Toni Payne’s assist ending Chelsea’s record-breaking run, Chiamaka Nnadozie continuing her fine form for Brighton, and other stars making their mark across Europe and beyond, www.aclsports.com reports.

Toni Payne provided the assist for Honoka Hayashi as Everton defeated Chelsea 1–0 at Kingsmeadow. The result ended Chelsea’s long unbeaten run in the WSL and marked Sonia Bompastor’s first league defeat since taking charge 18 months ago. Payne’s delivery was expertly finished by Hayashi, giving Everton their first WSL win over Chelsea since September 2013.

A HUGE moment for Honaka Hayashi.

Francisca Ordega opened the scoring for Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, helping her side to a 2–0 win over NEOM. María Díaz added a second shortly after halftime, while Ashleigh Plumptre anchored the defence as they kept a clean sheet.

Flourish Sabastine won the penalty that Marta Cox converted for Fenerbahçe in a tight derby against Galatasaray in the Turkcell Women’s Football League. The 1–0 victory ended Oluwatosin Demehin’s Galatasaray’s unbeaten run and kept Fenerbahçe top of the table, three points clear of their rivals, who remain second with 11 wins from 11 games.

Shukurat Oladipo continued her strong run with a fifth consecutive start for AS Roma in Serie A Femminile as they drew 1–1 with Juventus. Valentina Bergamaschi put Roma ahead, before Tatiana Pinto equalised in the second half. Rinsola Babajide came off the bench late on. Roma stay top of the table and now prepare to face Chelsea in the UEFA Women’s Champions League on Wednesday.

In Portugal, Christy Ucheibe started for Benfica in their 3–2 win over Sporting Braga in the Liga BPI. The victory keeps the champions five points clear at the top ahead of their midweek Champions League clash with Barcelona.

Meanwhile, in France, Jennifer Echegini started for Paris Saint-Germain in their 5–1 victory over Marseille in Division 1 Féminine, with goals from Romee Leuchter, Merveille Kanjinga, Ornella Graziani, Griedge Mbock and Lea Morissaint. Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade remains sidelined with injury. PSG next face OH Leuven in the UEFA Women’s Champions League on Tuesday.
