Nigeria’s representatives in the 2025/26 CAF Inter Club Competitions – Remo Stars, Rivers United, Abia Warriors and Kwara United – will know their opponents when the draw takes place on Saturday, www.aclsports.com reports.
Following the overwhelming success of the previous CAF Champions League leading to increased TV audiences, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is taking the Preliminary Draw to Tanzania’s capital, Dar es Salaam for the first time ever.
The Preliminary Draw will be conducted on Saturday, 09 August at 13h00 local time (11am Nigerian time) and will be LIVE on CAF’s YouTube Page and also CAF’s broadcast partners.
Azam Media, CAF’s strategic broadcast partner in the region, is set to host the upcoming Draw from its studios—continuing a proven approach that has seen previous draws successfully staged in television studio settings.
In the past, CAF has collaborated with leading broadcasters such as SuperSport and beIN Sports, along with Canal+, to stage these events—highlighting the important role of its media partners in the evolution and promotion of its Interclub competitions.
The CAF Inter Club Preliminary Round is scheduled to kick off on 19 September 2025, followed by the Second Preliminary Round starting on 17 October 2025.
The Group Stage of both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup will begin on 21 November 2025, with the knockout phase set to commence on 13 March 2026.
Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Remo Stars and Rivers United will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League, while Abia Warriors and Federation Cup winners Kwara United will take part in the Confederation Cup.
