There was a full house of invited Super Eagles players in Asaba on Tuesday afternoon ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming games against Seychelles and Egypt at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.

Europe based stars John Ogu, Oghenekaro Etebo, Francis Uzoho, Victor Osimhen and Henry Onyekuru were the last batch of players that arrived the Delta State capital as head coach Gernot Rohr received a full complement of his 23 invited players before the team’s first outdoor training session.

The Super Eagles camp opened on Monday with all invited home based players (with the exception of late invitee Ndifreke Effiong) arriving same day as well as England based duo Alex Iwobi and Semi Ajayi; Odion Ighalo and Daniel Akpeyi.

The team held their first official training session at the mainbowl of the match venue on Tuesday afternoon and will train again on Wednesday up till Thursday before facing Seychelles in an inconsequential qualifying game on Friday.

Still talking of arrivals, a delegation of the Seychelles national team; the Pirates, landed in Nigeria on Monday for Friday’s 2019 qualifying match against the Super Eagles, a game scheduled for 4pm Nigerian time.

Group leaders Nigeria have already secured their place in the finals and will be in the pot for the draw on Friday, 12th April at CAF’s headquarters in Cairo, while the Pirates were long eliminated and have only come to fulfill the fixture.

A 29 –man delegation of the Pirates arrived Abuja aboard an Ethiopian Airline flight on Tuesday afternoon, and will be flown to Asaba on Wednesday.

The Eagles are also at the same time preparing for a friendly game against AFCON hosts Egypt. This match comes up on Tuesday, March 26, also at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
