All is set for Nigeria to host it’s first international Para powerlifting session in recent years, sponsored by AGITOS foundation where people from across Africa will get insights of coaching and officiating.

In a statement obtained by ACLSports.com, the Secretary General of Nigeria Para Powerlifting Federation, Oludayo Abulude said the International Paralympics Committee (IPC) is partnering with the nation’s Paralympics Committee in organising the seminar and workshop which is scheduled to hold in Lagos from 10th to 12th August, 2017.

Abulude said the event will train participants in four areas of para powerlifting sports namely athletes, coaches, classifiers and technical officials.

He added that the event will attract participants from other African countries that are doing well in the sports and 20 participants from Nigeria

He noted that the programme will further enhance chances of the country maintaining her number one position in the world ranking in the sport

“This is a fantastic opportunity for our members in Nigeria especially those that do not have funds to attend seminars outside the country to ask questions on the sports. This is also an opportunity for Nigeria to increase the tally of our officiating officials in the continent” the federation scribe said.
